The One Life process will help you gain clarity, direction, focus, and an actionable game plan for your life.

What is the One Life process?
A 2-day in-person experience with a trained coach, who will guide you through 16 unique exercises to intentionally discern God's direction for your life.
Both you and your coach will do pre-work, and you'll have 3 follow-up virtual coaching sessions afterward.
The One Life process is a call to live by DESIGN, not by DEFAULT.

• discover who you truly are.
• understand how your story has shaped you.
• clarify what truly matters to you.
• identify your unique purpose and passions.
• discern your vision for the future.
• establish a healthy life rhythm.
• create an actionable roadmap for moving forward.

FAQs
- You and your coach meet in a distraction-free space.
- You and your coach turn off technology: phones, computers, tablets.
- We begin with Scripture, prayer, and inviting God into the process… and we continue to listen for His guidance throughout.
- Your coach will give you a rare gift: an invitation to pause… reflect… and have someone fully present to listen and hold space for the deepest dreams God has deposited in you.
- Your coach will walk you through 16 specific exercises that build on each other. With each exercise you’ll dive deeper into discovering how God made you, how your journey has shaped you, and how you can best steward the life God has given you. Your coach will ask a lot of questions, do a lot of listening, and do a lot of writing. We will have pre-printed 16 unique poster-sized charts, one for each exercise, and by the end, each chart will be filled with insights gained along the way, each leading to increasing clarity for your future.
- Though a lot happens in these 2 days, we’ll take breaks for snacks, lunch, and just to give our brains a rest and reset at times.
- In advance, you and you coach will have determined each day’s schedule. One typical scenario is to start at 11am and end at 5pm on day one and go from 9am to 5pm on day two, but actual times will depend on calendars and travel times for both you and your coach.
The pre-work only takes 2-3 hours… but it’s vital to the process. You’ll take five brief assessments, and you’ll ask 4-5 people who know you well to fill out a short-feedback form (5 questions) that will allow us to include their perspectives in the process.
1. PRE-WORK – Complete the pre-work well in advance.
2. PRAYER – Approach the pre-work and the 2-day in-person experience with prayer. Invite God into the process.
3. CALENDAR – Clear your calendar of all commitments, calls, and obligations… and communicate in advance to family, and coworkers that you’ll be unavailable. Also, do your best not to schedule anything too taxing (a major event or big project) right before the 2-day experience.
4. TECHNOLOGY – Turn off your phone and put it away during the process. At the end of each day, you can turn on your phone and check messages, but it will be very helpful to be free from it while doing this deep work. And your coach will turn their phone off too! In fact, often the day will officially start by both you and your coach turning off your phones, putting them in a bag, closing the zipper, and taking them to another room. Even just that simple action can have a profound effect on our ability to focus and get the most from the process!
5. DOCUMENTS – Print out physical copies of your pre-work and bring it with you for the two-days.
6. SLEEP – Get to bed early the night before and prioritize your rest in the days leading up. You need all your energy to think clearly and dig deep so that you can fully engage.
You and your coach will compare calendars and locations to determine the best place to meet.
In some cases the coach will travel to the client’s city; other times the client travels to the coach.
Either way, the three most important factors for the actual meeting location are:
- It needs to be comfortable.
- It needs to be distraction free.
- It needs to be away from the client’s familiar routine.
In your free discovery call, you and your coach can talk about potential options and what might work best for your situation.
Coaching calls help you implement the insights, intentions, and action plan into your everyday life– to make sure they don’t stay aspirational… but become your new reality.
Each coaching call provides a chance to dive deeper and go farther with a different aspect of the in-person experience or to engage with additional exercises that focus on everything from marriage to productivity to cycles of rest and replenishment.
While your career is very important, it’s only one part of your One Life. And besides, each area of your life impacts all the others. That’s why the One Life process takes a deep look at 8 different Life Spheres. We’ll certainly tackle your career– but we’ll cover lots more.
The One Life process is about God’s plan for your whole life… and how to steward every area well.
In the One Life process, we’ll look at your past (how your journey formed you), at your present (where you are now), and we’ll look at your desired future (what you believe God has created you for and called you to).
We’ll talk broadly about how the way God has uniquely wired and gifted you impacts the way you want to live until your dying day, but we’ll focus particularly (with specific dreams, goals, and action steps) on the next 3-5 years.
The One Life process is for anyone who wants to be intentional about stewarding well the one life God has given them.
It’s for those who are:
- seeking greater clarity about how to align their lives around the things that matter most
- desiring to live holistically so that faith, family, ministry, career, health, finances, and all the other aspects of life work together in harmony
- unsure what direction to take their life in the future
- exploring a possible career change
- feeling overwhelmed by the demands of life and need to figure out what to eliminate and what to prioritize
- about to enter a new phase of life (marriage, first child, a major move, empty nest, retirement)
- wanting to focus intently on specific goals without losing site of other important areas of life
It’s probably not the right time for you to do the One Life process if you’re right in the middle of a major crisis for which professional counseling/therapy would be better suited. That’s not to say that you have to “have it all together” to do the One Life process (if that was the case, no one could!); but if you are in the midst of a major traumatic event, it would be helpful to receive healing in a therapeutic context before going through the One Life process.
If you’re married, your “One Life” is inextricably linked to your spouse’s “One Life.” We get that. That’s why the One Life process can take one of three forms:
1. Go through the One Life process on your own, just you and your coach. In this scenario, you’ll obviously still consider your spouse (that’s built into-the process), but your spouse won’t be present during the two-day experience.
2. Go through the One Life process, but have your spouse join for specific exercises. The focus will still be on you, who God made you to be, and how you are to steward your life… but we’ll get input from your spouse at key points during the 2 days and involve them directly in the process.
3. Go through the One Life process as a couple. In this scenario, the focus shifts from the individual to the couple. This can take more time and be more involved, so the schedule may look a bit different if you go this route, but this can also be a great option.
None of these is better than the others– it’s just a matter of which one is right for you (and your spouse) at this particular time in your life. Each has its advantages, and in your free discovery call, you and your coach can talk about which route feels right for this time.
1. A clear Action Plan
2. A clear Vision of Your Desired Future 3-5 years out… in each of the 8 spheres of life
3. A 10-statement Life Manifesto that will serve as the filter for your decisions and a guide for how you invest your time, energy, and resources
4. A deeper understanding of who you are, how God made you, and permission to say “no” to things that hinder you from making the most of your one life… and “yes” to your true calling
5. Specific action plans for personal replenishment, life rhythms, and family engagement
6. In-writing articulation and clarification of your deepest desires, unique gifting, and life purpose
7. An honest assessment of where you are today
8. An in-depth exploration of how your family of origin and your life journey have shaped you
9. Hard copies and digital copies (photos/PDF scans) of the16 charts you and your coach worked through over the two days
Though the two-day in-person experience doesn’t answer every question or solve every problem, it provides a tremendous amount of clarity. There is always more work to be done afterward– but the two days empowers you to know what that work is and how to do it. You may even leave the 2 days with questions that you didn’t have when you walked in… but they’ll be more focused questions, questions born out of new insights and a clearer path forward. The 2-day process empowers you with a clearer vision of WHAT, and the follow up coaching will help you figure out HOW. And though 3 coaching sessions are included with the One Life process, often additional coaching over the long term can prove instrumental to lasting change.
What if 2 days could change the rest of your life?
